CIGARS

Dutch Masters’ Instagram account promoted the brand’s Craft Syndicate Project, a documentary and event initiative that partners “up-and-coming" artists with more established artists in their artistic field. The project will feature content at Art Basel Miami, a high-end contemporary art fair, this weekend. A recent post featured artist Alan Berman, who also posted content promoting the project on his personal Instagram account.

SMOKELESS TOBACCO

In October 2019, FDA issued modified risk orders to Swedish Match USA for eight of their snus products. This order allowed Swedish Match to market these products using the claim, “Using General Snus instead of cigarettes puts you at a lower risk of mouth cancer, heart disease, lung cancer, stroke, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis.” These orders were valid for a term of 5 years. To continue marketing these products as a modified risk tobacco product (MRTP) after this time, Swedish Match submitted MRTP application renewals at the end of November 2023, which are currently undergoing scientific review at FDA. More information can be found here.

MODERN ORAL NICOTINE PRODUCTS

We saw another magazine ad for Rogue, this time in the December issue of Car and Driver. The imagery continues to suggest a target market of male consumers, much like traditional smokeless tobacco product advertising.
