About Us

CRST created a network of sentinel sites that consist of community experts to complement the core functions and data collection efforts of CRST. Collectively, the sentinel site network includes urban and rural areas, and populations and localities of relevance for particular tobacco product classes or risk factors, and populations with tobacco-related health disparities. This site map includes the current sentinel site network which may change over the course of the project depending on changing tobacco use trends.

This map of the continental United States shows the 6 sentinel sites and states for the Center for Rapid Surveillance of Tobacco: Burlington, VT; New Brunswick, NJ; Lexington, KY; Greenville, NC; Columbus, OH; and Stanford, CA. It also shows subaward and consultant locations in Buffalo, NY; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Rockville, MD; Charleston, SC; Atlanta, GA; Milwaukee, WI; Dallas, TX; Salt Lake City, UT; and Reno, NV. The map highlights all states (excluding Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Iowa) that participate in the Association for the Treatment of Tobacco Use and Dependence (ATTUD) survey. Nielson market areas include parts of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, Arizona, California, and Nevada.
